RUMINATION ROAD

Life is full.  It’s active, as much through pain and disappointment as through joy.  In its generosity it stretches and squeezes our souls, works itself out in our personalities.  Even when it dashes us on the rocks, it beckons us to soar in its bottomless beauty.  It is never dry, never flat-lined. Instead, each part is joined to the next, melding together its own piece of the whole.  It is always new, ever changing, underscored with joy or sorrow, topped off with hope.  Discover, too, that it isn’t a roller coaster ride leaving us inept and askew, but that it is thrilling ride toward balance, fueled by hope.

May you be so touched by its truths that you thrust yourself hopefully into your own.

About the Author:

Rose Hampton Newton, a woman on the inner edge of life's last pages, has fallen in love with her Autumn Years. And why not, since through the grace of God, every year including this one has been blessed. She was gifted with parents of the highest caliber; her siblings love and accept her; her children and their families honor her; good friends grace her life. The blessings continue.

Life followed an accident that should have paralyzed it. Filled to the brim and spilling over, life offered to renew itself instead. Its gifts, from the heart of God, were all amazing: trust renewed, a time to find every kind of health, a trip to college, just samplings of embracing life's offer.

One more time she teases that she has found what she is supposed to do when she grows up: writing to share hope.

Rose graduated from Maple Woods Community College, Kansas City,
Mo, May 1989 with an Associates in Arts with high honors.
She then graduated from Missouri Western State College, St. Joseph, MO August 1991 with a BA (English degree with a writing emphasis) Summa Cum Laude

Some of her poetry has been published in college publications and in contests. She has written for the college paper as senior reporter. In January 2000, the short story, "The Perfectly Matched Pair," was published in Linda Evans Shepherd's book, Heart-Stirring Stories of Romance by Broadman & Holman Publishers, Nashville, TN.

Rumination Road flows from and through all that and it's results: life embraced as it is, and hope for all it can be.
