ROSES
FROM THE ATTIC
Muted colors of yesterday
Outline each petal.
They sleep together
In a cradle of tissue paper
The color of a wasp nest.
The summer he gave
them
To her was also
The heated moments of
His death.
His life flowed into the
Riverbed where he dived
Showing off for her.
Once more she lays them
On her breast as night falls
Into her bedroom.
The moon lights her thin
White hair and her heart joins his.

Belinda Anne Landtroop's poetry has appeared

acrylic. Her Romantic style brings warmth to her work and
she frequently writes poetry that is inspired by a work in progress.
