A
Kiss Is Just A Kiss
Janet
Brown
In 1962 when America was changing
from the beatnik to the hippie generation; when women's rights,
gay lib, black power, and affirmative action were beginning to make
a difference; when women burned their bras and men burned their
draft cards; and when the Beatles, JFK, LBJ, electroshock therapy,
and birth control pills were on their way in and out, best friends
Jeanette Pruette and Emma June Laybourne discover that they have
the ability to communicate telepathically. Jeanette is fearful of
the power, though, and what it may ultimately do to them.
The girls attend different universities
and while Emma June keeps up with Jeanette's life via telepathy,
Jeanette becomes infatuated with her visiting English professor,
the famous and flamboyant British writer Plymouth Gardmore, who
has a penchant for young girls and especially for Jeanette.
