"Emerald Eyes Destiny"
Ross Richdale

Cindy Meikin,a high school senior, has a strange experience that puts her in contact with Sylvia ,a girl her own age from another world. After taking Sylvia home she discovers that her mother, Natasha and herself came from this world and not from Eastern Europe as she had always been told.

Cindy, Natasha and Sylvia return to through a void to find themselves involved in an ongoing war against foreign invaders. They meet Archwizard Lightshield, who originally knew Natasha, in a castle under siege.

Cindy also finds that she is an Emerald Eye Wizard and has strange magical powers in this new land that come to her without being called upon. The adventure continues with Cindy¹s powers becoming stronger and seemingly being controlled by some unknown force.

Other characters include dwarfs helping to defend Uronia, Prince Gerard from a northern country in the same world and some dragons they seek out to help in their battles. But why has this all happened to Cindy? What is her real connection with Sylvia and will the pair be able to drive off a ruthless enemy?

All will be revealed in ³Emerald Eyes Destiny² by Wayne South.

About the Author:

After a career as a teacher and principal of mainly small rural schools, Wayne South writes both science fiction novels and contemporary novels under his real name, Ross Richdale. He lives in the small university city of Palmerston North in the North Island of New Zealand and is married with three children. His wife, Kay, still carries the burden of teaching children at a local primary (elementary) school.

After his wife and daughter go off to work every morning, Wayne shares his living room with a black and white cat who demands to be fed at least six times a day and a goldfish called Survivor who managed to survive being dropped in a glass aquarium that was totally shattered. In this congenial atmosphere, he pounds away on an ancient Macintosh to form the characters and plots for his novels.

Ordinary people rather than the super rich, the super powerful or violent, are the main characters in his novels. He is also keenly interested in current events and uses international incidents as a backdrop for many of his novels.

When he is not writing, Wayne enjoys drawing, usually on the computer. Other interests include wandering in the countryside and, in the summer, swimming in mountain streams or bounding through the rapids in a tractor tire inner tube. Many of his novels reflect his interest in the rural lifestyle as well as the cross section of personalities encountered during his years as a teacher.
